Household Hazardous Waste Collection

Two dates have been set for the annual Passaic County Household Hazardous Waste Collection. Collection sites are open from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm - RAIN OR SHINE - on Sunday, April 18th, Saturday June 5th and Saturday, October 2nd, 2010.

NO UNKNOWN OR UNIDENTIFIED ITEMS CAN BE ACCEPTED
Small Quantity Generators (CESQG's) must call to make special arrangements.
A disposal fee will be charged. Call (973)305-5738 for additional information.

Items acceptable for disposal include:

  • Propane Tanks
  • Solvents and thinners
  • Varnishes and Waxes
  • Corrosives and Cleaners
  • Pool chemicals
  • Oil Based Paints
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Household batteries
  • Kerosene
  • Photographic Chemicals
  • Flourescent Light Bulbs
  • Car Batteries
  • Used Motor Oil and Oil Filters
  • Antifreeze
  • Old Gasoline/Oil Mix
  • Flares
  • Smoke Detectors
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Mercury Switches and thermometers
  • Flourescent light bulbs
