Stream Planting on the West Brook
Help us restore and
protect an eroded segment of the West Brook. Meet us at 10 am at the
intersection of West Brook Road and Snake Den Road (In West Milford,
NOT at the Ringwood end of Snake Den Road). We'll plant willow
and
dogwood cuttings and white pines along a section of the West Brook. As
the plantings mature, they'll provide shade and cooler water
temperatures that will protect the native troup population in the
stream. Tools and refreshments will be provided! Please join us. For
further information, or to RSVP, contact Tracy Margaret at
tracy@skyclean.org.
Volunteers (ages 10 and up) should bring waders or waterproof boots.
Since the planting is primarily cuttings, heavy digging is not
typically involved. Many hands make light work!
Sustainable West Milford's first Green Fest
After the planting,
why not stop by the first Annual Green Fest, sponsored by Sustainable
West Milford? We'll be manning a table where we can meet our members
and provide information on local environmental issues. The event runs
from 10 am to 6 pm. For further information, check out the SWM
