Fishing derby is reel deal for kids
Thursday, May 29, 2008

WEST MILFORD — Children 15 and younger are invited to try their luck at landing a sunny or maybe even a trout Saturday at a fishing derby.

The free derby will be held at the pond at Westbrook Park on Westbrook Road from 9 a.m. to noon.

It is sponsored by Skylands CLEAN and the Watershed Ambassadors Program, an AmeriCorps environmental program held by the state Department of Environmental Protection.

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and fishing gear will be lent to those who need it.

Members of East Jersey Trout Unlimited will be on hand to show young anglers how to fish.

The event will be held rain or shine. Westbrook Park is located near the Teen Coffee House and the former KOA camp.

For information, call Tracy Margaret at 201-572-4039 or e-mail her at tracy@skyclean.org.
