Congresswoman Marge Roukema, Elaine Rosenfield, and Kathy Baker
On May 16th, 1998, friends, supporters, colleagues and elected officials joined the volunteers of Skylands CLEAN in celebrating the opening of our office and the hiring of our full-time Coordinator, Kathy Baker. Congresswoman Marge Roukema, attending with her husband, Dick, did the honor of cutting the ribbon. She was joined by Kathy Baker and Elaine Rosenfield, wife of dedicated and long-time CLEAN volunteer Gene Rosenfield who passed away last year. Passaic County Freeholder-Director Peter Eagler, Freeholder Scott Rumana, and Ringwood Councilmen Walt Davison, Ron Madigan and Allan Van Eck also attended. CLEAN was pleased to have the opportunity to recognize and thank Congresswoman Roukema for her efforts on a number of environmental issues, including the preservation of Sterling Forest; Freeholder-Director Eagler for making Freeholder meetings more accessible to the public; local resident Jerry Wyckoff for decades of work, including service on the Ringwood Environmental Commission, to maintain and improve the environment and quality of life in Ringwood; former resident Barbara Walsh, for her decades of effort, including service on the Ringwood Planning Board, to bring true long-term planning and quality-of-life awareness to land-use deliberations.
